How to Use Work Items to Automatically Set a Fixed Price

Learn how to automatically apply a pre-set, fixed price to one-time or non-recurring appointments.

Creating a Work Item With a Fixed Rate

  • From your Zenmaid Dashboard, go to Settings > Job Estimation.

  • Scroll down to the Work Items section.

  • Click + Add Work Item.

  • In the Item field, enter a clear name for the work item


    (for example: “One-Time Deep Clean – Flat Rate” or a customer-specific name).

  • In the Cost field, enter the fixed rate you want to charge.

  • Scroll down and click Save Changes.


Applying the Work Item to a One-Time Appointment

  • From your Zenmaid Dashboard, go to any of the following Schedule Views:

Calendar View

List View

Weekly Dispatch

Horizontal Dispatch

Vertical Dispatch

  • Create a new one-time appointment by clicking on a space in your calendar.

  • In the Create Appointment window, scroll down to the Work Items section.

  • Check the box next to the work item you created.

  • Make sure Automatically Estimate Amount Owed is enabled.

  • Add any additional appointment details, then click Create Appointment.

  • Once saved, the fixed rate from the work item will automatically apply to the appointment.
