Learn how to configure a flat rate salary in ZenMaid payroll for yourself as an owner or for a cleaner by setting up a pay rate and a recurring placeholder appointment.

Written by Jorge Sardinha

Summary

  • This article explains how business owners and cleaning business operators can set up a flat rate salary in ZenMaid payroll. The steps are the same whether you are configuring your own salary as the owner or setting up a fixed recurring payment for a cleaner.

Configuring the Pay Rate

Step 1

  • Log in to your ZenMaid Dashboard.

  • Go to Cleaners > All Cleaners.

  • Click the name of the owner or cleaner you want to configure.

  • Select Actions and click Edit.

  • Expand the Pay Rate and Job Estimate section.

  • Under Pay Type, select Flat Rate.

  • In Pay Rate, enter the amount you want to receive each time you run payroll.

  • Click Save.

Setting Up a Recurring Placeholder Appointment

Important

  • This appointment is only a placeholder used to trigger payroll calculations. It does not need to represent a real cleaning job.

  • Create a fake client in your ZenMaid account.

  • Create an appointment and assign it to the owner or cleaner.

  • Set the recurrence to match your payroll schedule: weekly if you run payroll weekly, or monthly if you run payroll monthly.

Side Note

  • Once this is set up, every time you run payroll in ZenMaid, the flat rate salary will be included in the calculation automatically for whoever the appointment is assigned to.
