Accessing Invoice Settings
Enabling and Configuring Payment Methods
Important
Each payment method has its own toggle and can be turned on or off independently.
You can enable multiple payment methods at the same time, so clients can choose how to pay.
By default, all payment methods are toggled off.
You must have a credit card processor (Stripe or Square) connected before you can charge cards.
Payment Method Options
Credit cards: Toggle on.
If no processor is connected, the "Connect your credit card processor to start charging cards" window will appear.
Click Go to credit card processing settings and connect Stripe or Square.
Once a processor is connected, toggling on opens the Credit card payment details window, enter any extra details in the Additional information field (such as accepted cards or processing fees), and click Save.
After saving, use Manage your credit card processors or Edit to update details later.
PayPal: Toggle on and enter your PayPal payment link (for example, https://paypal.me/company_name).
Venmo: Toggle on and enter your Venmo username. The @ symbol is added automatically, so do not type it.
Zelle: Toggle on and enter the email address or phone number connected to your Zelle account.
Bank transfer: Toggle on and enter your bank account details or wire transfer instructions.
Other: Toggle on and add a title and description with your custom payment instructions.
Custom link: Toggle on and paste any external payment URL, such as Cash App, a client portal, or another payment page.
Additional Information & Troubleshooting
If you’ve disconnected your credit card processor (such as Stripe or Square) but still have "Online with credit card" selected under Payment methods, your customers will see "This invoice cannot be paid online at this time" when viewing the invoice.
To fix this
Go to your Invoice settings page.
Scroll to the Payment methods section.
Select either:
The external payment link (Venmo, PayPal, or a custom link)
or the custom payment description options.Click Save changes.
This will ensure your customers see a valid way to pay.
