How to Set Up a Tax Exemption Rate

Learn how to apply a tax exemption in ZenMaid by creating a 0% tax rate and applying it to appointments that require it.

Summary

  • You can apply a tax exemption in ZenMaid by creating a new tax rate set to 0% and assigning it to the relevant appointments.


Accessing The Tax Settings Page

  • From your ZenMaid Dashboard, go to Settings > Tax under Client Billing.


Setting Up A New Tax Rate

  • Click on the + Add another primary tax rate button.

  • Enter a name in the Label field and leave the Rate set to 0 (for 0%).

Side Note

  • If you have a Secondary Tax Rate set up, make sure you add another one under this section with the same 0 rate.

  • Don't forget to hit the Save Changes button at the bottom of the page.


Applying The Tax Exemption Rate

  • For every appointment, you need to be tax-exempt, go to the appointment's financials section, and toggle between the new tax rate you created.
