How to Use the Appointment Types Feature

Learn how to create, edit, and assign appointment types to better categorize and manage appointments.

Summary

  • Appointment Types replace Service Types and give you greater control over how appointments are categorized, managed, and assigned. You can now create, edit, and assign appointment types directly without needing to contact support.

Important

  • As part of this release, existing service types have been migrated and consolidated into Appointment Types.

  • Some appointment types may appear under the wrong category (Residential, Commercial, or Internal).

  • Some names may be locked to prevent accidental changes.

  • If you notice a mis-categorized or incorrectly named appointment type, contact support with:

    • Current Appointment Type name.

    • Which appointment (customer's name and appointment date)

    • The correct Category (Residential, Commercial, or Internal)

Accessing Appointment Types

  • From the ZenMaid Dashboard, navigate to Settings.

  • Next, select Appointment Types under Scheduling.


Understand What Is Available on the Appointment Types Page

  • From the Appointment Types page, you’ll see appointment types grouped.

  • Each section displays:

    • The appointment type name

    • The number of appointments associated with it

    • An option to delete the appointment type (availability depends on whether the appointment type is assigned to an appointment)


Creating A New Appointment Type or Category

Creating An Appointment Type

  • To create a new appointment type, click the + New Type button within the category. Each category, including any newly created ones, has its own add button, making it easy to organize appointment types as you go.

  • Enter the Appointment type name

  • Save your changes


Creating a Category

  • When you click on the + New appointment type button, you will see a list of appointment types categorized by Residential, Short Term Rental, Commercial, Admin/Internal, and Other.

Side Note

  • Internal appointment types are ideal for non-customer work such as training, inspections, or internal tasks.

  • As shown in the GIF above, you can create your own appointment type by clicking the + New appointment type button and selecting Other under any category. From there, you will see an editable field.


Using Appointment Types

Assigning An Appointment Type

  • Open an appointment from any schedule view (except for the Spot Finder feature).

  • Edit the appointment.

  • Select an Appointment Type from the dropdown.

  • Save the appointment.


Where Assignments Can Be Made

  1. Anywhere in ZenMaid where you can edit an appointment.

  2. Under "Manage recurring services."


Example Use Case

  • You can now create a Laundry appointment type and assign it to laundry-specific appointments, making it easy to separate these jobs from standard cleaning services.
