Your home cleaning company can level up

Your residential cleaning service’s progress is greatly affected by your mindset.

We see this concept of mindset affecting many parts of our lives. When we are lying around on the couch a lot, we do less and we try less.

However, when we start to get into productive habits: working out, developing hobbies, and socializing, we continue to be more active.

Here is how it relates to the success of your Maid Service:

Imagine you have a mental thermostat, like this…

…but in your mind.

Now replace the “cold” and “hot” settings to “high” and “low” and crank that needle all the way up.

Be mindful of where you desire your energy to be and you can then let things work to that point.

For example, let’s say you walk into your day with zero tolerance for shenanigans. The problem with this is that most days, especially the days in the lives of Maid Service owners, are full of general nonsense aka shenanigans.

So, if you set your level low, you won’t have much to give and can find yourself wiped out or getting angry at issues out of your control.

However, if you set your mental thermostat up to “high” then you are more prepared for the problems that may arise throughout the day.

You may start to see mistakes or errors as obstacles waiting to be overcome and achieved. That cleaning client that is always giving you a hard time suddenly seems like a fun challenge in building rapport. Or maybe you have trouble organizing your cleaners, so you decide to solve the problem by finding a great scheduling software.

No matter what the issue is: you are ready.

Mental preparation is everything, we cannot achieve anything unless we believe we can. It’s all about that mental thermostat setting.

So set yours high, be ready for the day ahead, and enjoy the lessons that you will learn throughout the growth of your Maid Service.

You’ll be carried through difficult times much more easily, without giving up, and you can truly deal with more this way.

Your Maid Service can handle dirty business

Having your mental thermostat turned up will also help with morale and success with complicated home cleanings.

Walking into a cluttered home is one thing, but walking into a situation where the home has not been cleaned in years or you have a hoarder type situation, is another. This sort of job can seem quite intimidating, maybe even making you want to run out of the house screaming. If you have your setting is on low, you just might.

Difficult problems were not meant to be solved with minimal effort.

Alternatively, if your setting is high, then you might get excited about helping this person out and figuring out how to transform their home for them.

Your cleaning company can take on unfamiliar challenges

With a high set thermostat, you can greet new and unexpected issues your cleaning service will face with curiosity, maybe even excitement.

Perhaps you don’t have enough people scheduled and you just aren’t sure what to do to get the word out there. With the mindset that you will learn and grow from this, you may find that there are lots of great ways that you can market your Maid Service.

Maybe you have plenty of cleaning clients but you are having issues keeping quality cleaners. Your growth mindset reminds you that there must simply be better systems that you can put into place in order to better your onboarding process.

Regardless of the problem, having the right mindset is the solution.

Throw away expectations for things to always flow smoothly and learn to enjoy the ride.

Having a strategy to the way your Maid Service progresses over time is also essential.

Your home cleaning business keeps things moving

Life isn’t always going to be easy. In fact, often it is not.

Drive and effort are required in order to achieve your goals, but take it one step at a time.

“You’ve got to move your paws” – Elena Ledoux

Sometimes even in our dream job, we greet moments where we want to just stop forward momentum altogether.

However, if you truly believe that you are doing what you want to be doing, then you cannot give up just because the Maid Service business isn’t fun one day.

Everyone has fears and sees setbacks when creating the life they want for themselves, but we have to keep on living and learning.

Learning how to evolve is what our brains need in order to progress and achieve moments of happiness or pride.

Having a residential cleaning business just enhances your chances of having growth opportunities each day.

Your Maid Service gives your cleaners life

A lot of cleaners just want to live their best lives too, help them by showing respect and understanding of the position.

Consider who you hire and think about providing job opportunities to those coming back from a period of unemployment. People who are given a chance are also often very loyal, and they may just be who you need to grow your business exponentially.

Additionally, investing in your cleaners and office staff by providing health insurance as well as retirement options are great ways to keep quality employees around.

Offering a flexible schedule and professional development opportunities can also be a way to show your employees that you value them.

If you’re having trouble with turn over rates, take a look at your processes.

Cleaners who love their jobs and feel valued, not only increase client referrals, they tell other potential staff about the great company they work for.

Your Maid Service can make a community feel like a home

Integrate your home cleaning company into your local community. Talk with other business owners and create community partners by trading referrals with the companies that you want to be associated with.

Check out Facebook groups with local business owners and other professional cleaners in the area to work with.

Talk with these other companies about booking opportunities that can benefit you both.

Collaborate with businesses that do things that yours doesn’t, like landscaping or cleaning gutters, house painters or car cleaners.

Ask anyone who knows how your company works, to review you. Reputation is so important for a growing cleaning business.

Speaking of reputation, consider working with local charities. Offer support to a charity you feel passionate about and get involved in doing good within the community. This is a great strategy and a wonderful way to promote all-around wellness.

When you put all of that goodness out there, you can be pleasantly surprised with the return on investment.
